emby is an independent dance music record label based out of Philadelphia. They needed to stand out in the digital landscape of bountiful music releases. Their music is fun and bold, so their artwork needed to reflect that.
A FULLY MOBILE EXPERIENCE
emby needed a website. A home to direct fans to. I opted for a one page responsive design to allow for best viewing on any device.
The website was a hub, made for showcasing some of the label's artists, capturing visitors' email addresses via free giveaways, being a purchase point for the label's music, and for allowing visitors to stream the newest releases.
12" ALBUM ARTWORK ISN'T DEAD!
When creating artwork for a given release or single, I'd listen for inspiration. I'd spend hours looping the song while getting elements together. The artwork for an album can be what grabs a purchaser's attention so it's gotta be bold and encompass the vibe of the music well.
